Our mission
People are made by making things.
We carry a person through the whole arc of a craft: a first project, real skill, knowing what the work is worth, and a place to use it. The people who finish become the people who teach.
- LearnShort courses from working craftspeople, starting with the very first project.
- MakeOpen studio time and materials to turn practice into real skill.
- SellPricing, photos, and a market day. The market stall is a classroom.
- TeachMakers who reach real skill are paid to teach the next group.
This is the path we're building. Our first market is December 12, 2026, and workshops are planned for 2027. Open studio time comes once we have a shop.

Step 1 · Holiday Market
$5,050 raised toward $51,500, as of October 28, 2026
Every gift goes to one fund: the $75,000 Founding Fund. We're raising it in two steps.
- Step 1, now: $51,500 equips the Holiday Market with booths and lights that Potomac Made owns and reuses every year, plus the Central Park community tree.
- Step 2, 2027: $23,500 launches Art in the Park: artisans' pay, materials, tool kits, and scholarship seats.
